‘Flud‘ is This Fluid’s first album. It was recorded in 1995-96 and was released in 1997 by Hitch-Hyke records. Spyros Faros, Anna Maratou and Makis Faros, three very different characters, with three different points of view, coexist on Flud. This album combines electronic music with post-punk and greek, celtic and japanese traditional music influences. It marries electronic sounds with electric guitars, ebow and traditional instruments, programming through algorithmic processing with improvisation, the expressive vocals of Spyros Faros with the tender voice of Anna Maratou and the mechanistic computer generated vocals.
It’s a mature and honest collection. Pieces like Dream ‘n’ Roll, Trance Romance, Sha la la and Burden offer a view on the modern collective subconscious.
EON, Fairy tales, the man, on a three peak mountain and Deep blue sky reflect on primitive emotions.
Outbursts, retreats and demands between people in love are examined on Chink, Walls, Appeal, and Elli’s Cage
Spirit and powder are personal testaments on drug and alcohol abuse.
Less than U and Gene X are surrealist explosions.
An inward but extroverted gaze…
Immerse yourselves into This Fluid’s seductive world. Travel with them in a world faraway and yet, so close…
