Housework

Thanos Vavaroutas is a singer and multi-instrumentalist that goes by the alias «housework». During the eight years he spent in the USA he worked at local and college radio stations, meeting various legends of the indie scene while adopting the «housework» persona by which he organised private happenings/concerts and composed music for the theater.

Returning to Greece and from 1999 and on, he has written music for theater, multimedia performances as well as for short films with participation to the Drama Festival. He has collaborated with Makis Faros in the production of various of his art works. As ‘housework’ he has published 7 albums available as digital releases.

From 2003 to 2006 he was a member of Zero People with Spyros Faros. The band played a number of concerts around Athens and participated in various happenings in clubs and theaters.

From 2007 he is collaborating with Belgrade based musician Predrag Nedic with whom they have issued 4 lps and various eps as the collaborative project ‘PNDC&housework’ and 2 mini albums as ‘hospital NEON’ their band project.

From 2007 he is also working with singer and artist Marina Skiadaresi (Shadowlike). Together they have recorded over 40 songs that have been published in 4 digital album collections and have collaborated with various greek and foreign artists, in live performance and various recordings.

In 2008 he became member of This Fluid participating in recording of the ‘heartbreak hotel’ album and was also featured (with Spiros Faros) on Makis Faros’ ‘Scan_living’ album.

He is currently working on new material for housework, hospital NEON, Shadowlike and various other collaborations, as well as continuing his creative association with ‘this fluid’.
